We will set sail in a private boat from the port of Nauta sailing along the Marañón River for 3 hours upstream. During the trip you will be able to enjoy the beautiful landscape and you will have the possibility to see the gray (Sotalia fluviatilis) and pink river dolphins (Inia geoffrensis), diversity of birds such as the yellow billed tern (Sternula superciliaris), olivaceous cormorant (Phalacrocorax olivaceus), great egret (Ardea alba), snowy egret (Egretta thula), ring kingfisher (Megaceryle torquata), among many others.

Inside the reserve, we will continue navigating for 30 minutes until we reach the community of 20 de Enero.

Now, we will sail deeper into the virgin forest, until we find our ideal place where we will set up our camp and it will be our center of operations during the day.

Next, comes our excursion in search of the river dolphins and we will explore the area in search of primates. If you like, you can swim in the Yanayacu River, and then watch the sunset over the amazon.

Next, we will enjoy a typical dinner of the Amazon rainforest prepared with fresh products from the region.

After dinner, we will make a nocturnal hike in search of reptiles, amphibians, rodents and arachnids while we enjoy the beautiful symphony of the Amazon rainforest, which the nocturnal animals that live here create for us.

Camping in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Our day will begin with an early start with an expedition aboard our boat sailing along the Yanayacu River in search of the sloths (Bradypus tridactylus), black capped squirrel monkey (Saimiri boliviensis) and saddle back tamarin (Saguinus fuscicollis). We will take advantage of high bird activity during sunrise to go birdwatching, where we will also take time to listen and enjoy their beautiful songs.

It is time to enjoy the rich typical lunch of the jungle prepared by our cook with local products.

Then, we will take a walk in the virgin forest, to submerge ourselves in the "kingdom of the giant trees" and to take an ethnobotanical walk. We will have the pleasure of seeing and appreciating the Ceiba (Ceiba pentandra), the largest tree in the Amazon rainforest that can exceed 50 meters in height. Also, doing recognition of medicinal plants, timber trees and their main characteristics; specific associations that occur between plants, trees and animals, parasitic plants, epiphytes and vines. We will learn how to cut and drink from the "water liana", a vine that can be used as a survival technique. Remember to be very attentive during the walk, paying close attention to our surroundings, especially to the canopy of the forest, trying to identify sloths and species of monkeys that will find themselves feeding and carrying out their daily activities in their natural habitat. You can also see varieties of birds, insects, arachnids, reptiles and amphibians. If we are lucky we can see different species of boas, including the anaconda or the Amazonian jaguar when it comes to drink water on the shores of the lagoons. We will continue with our walk until we reach a cocha (it is locally called the lagoons), where there is a great diversity of fish and aquatic species. We will enjoy the beautiful landscape and then return to our camp for lunch.

The following activity in our agenda is a boat trip where we will test our skills with the artisanal fishing of piranhas. The guide will give you the instructions and all the necessary equipment for fishing. If you like you can keep and cook your best catch for dinner.

We will then eat a delicious Amazon dinner.
